  1. Pre-heat oven to 175C.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence till creamy.
  4. Add orange juice and zest. 
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating after every addition.
  6. Add flour mix. Mix well.
  7. Stir in the chopped figs and hazelnuts to the dough.
  8. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  9. Spoon out into lined baking tray.
  10. Bake for 8-11 minutes.
  11. Cool for 10 mins before serving.
