  1. Combine all dry ingredients.
  2. Make a well in the centre of the mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl beat the egg. Add milk, oil and vanilla essence.
  4. Pour the egg mix in the dry ingredients and mix well. The batter should be slightly lumpy. Let the batter rest for 15-20 minutes.
  5. With a ¼ cup measure pour batter into a lightly greased frying pan. Cook over medium heat for about 2 minutes on each side (or until golden brown).
